Insights Reference Guide
The Insights screen is where you go to understand how your reviews are performing over time. It brings together review analytics, a multi-line performance chart, email format breakdown, and top-performing products in one place — so you can see at a glance which products are winning, which collection emails are converting, and how your review multiplication is trending.
How to get there
In your Shopify admin, open the Review Multiplier app and click Insights in the left navigation menu.
The Insights screen is available on every plan. Some advanced slices may show as Pro-only when applicable; the screen never hides itself entirely behind the Pro paywall.
What you'll see
The page is composed of four cards, top to bottom:
1. Review Analytics & Multiplication
The headline card. A single glance gives you four primary metrics, three performance indicators, and your platform distribution.
Primary metrics (the large boxed row):
| Metric | What it means |
|---|---|
| Total Reviews | All-time reviews collected across every source — store-collected, multiplied, and imported. |
| Average Rating | Overall customer satisfaction. Shown numerically with a star representation. |
| Multiplication Rate | Percentage of positive reviews that got shared to multiple platforms. Higher is better. |
| Platform Coverage | Average number of platforms each positive review reaches. |
Performance indicators (the next row of smaller tiles):
- Review Velocity — reviews collected per week, with a small sparkline trend and a delta vs. the previous week
- Email → Review Conversion — percentage of review request emails that turned into a published review
- Participation Rate — percentage of customers who participated in any way (clicked the email, opened the collection page, submitted a review)
Bottom row:
- Platform Distribution — a bar chart plus a paginated table showing how many reviews live on each connected platform
- Photo Rate — percentage of reviews that include at least one photo
2. Performance Overview
A multi-line chart showing reviews, average rating, emails, email clicks, social shares, and social posts plotted over the selected date range. Useful for spotting weekly cycles, the impact of a campaign, or a sudden dip after a config change.
Date range selector — pick from:
| Option | Value | Window |
|---|---|---|
| Last 7 days | last7days | 7 days back from today |
| Last 30 days | last30days | 30 days back from today |
| Last 90 days | last90days | 90 days back from today |
| This month | thisMonth | Current calendar month so far |
| Last month | lastMonth | Full previous calendar month |
Changing the date range updates the chart in place. The screen also stays at the same scroll position.
3. Email Analytics
A table of email performance broken out by template format (1-step vs 2-step collection, plus per-template variants when present), over the trailing 30 days.
| Column | What it means |
|---|---|
| Format | The collection flow used (1-step or 2-step) and template variant. |
| Sent | Emails delivered. |
| Open Rate | Percentage of recipients who opened the email. |
| Click Rate | Percentage who clicked through to the collection page. |
| Conversion Rate | Percentage who completed a review after clicking. |
A "best performer" callout highlights the format with the best conversion rate so you can lean into what's working.
4. Top Products
Two side-by-side tables for the selected date range:
- Top by Review Count — the products generating the most reviews this period
- Top by Rating — the products with the highest average rating this period
Both tables show product image, title, review count, and average rating. Each is paginated at 8 products per page so you can scan deeper into the catalog.
Shareable URLs
The selected date range is reflected in the URL as a ?dateRange= query parameter. For example:
/app/insights?dateRange=last90days
Bookmark or share these URLs with your team to land on the same view you're looking at. Valid values are last7days, last30days, last90days, thisMonth, lastMonth.
What lives elsewhere
The home Dashboard screen now shows a 3-metric headline tile (Total reviews, Average rating, Multiplication rate) and a 5-row Recent Activity preview. Both link to the more detailed views — Insights for the metrics, Activity for the full event timeline.
If you've come here looking for the full activity feed (reviews coming in, emails sent, platform syncs, etc.), that lives on the Activity screen.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my Multiplication Rate look low?
Multiplication Rate counts positive reviews that were shared to additional platforms after collection. If you've only just connected your platforms, the rate climbs as new reviews come in and get multiplied — historic reviews aren't retroactively re-shared. Give it 30 days of fresh review activity to settle.
The Performance Overview chart is empty for "Last 7 days" but populated for "Last 30 days". Is this a bug?
No — the 7-day window simply doesn't include any data points yet. This is normal for stores with low review volume. Try Last 30 or Last 90 days for a fuller picture.
Why is Email Analytics fixed at 30 days?
Email-format performance is most meaningful as a recent signal: which template wins right now. Longer windows blur out recent template changes. The 30-day window is the standard reporting cadence for this metric.
Can I export the data on this page?
Direct CSV export from the Insights page isn't supported yet. For raw review data, use Import & Export which provides CSV download of the underlying review records.
